After careful review, balancing my flying skills against the missions I fly, and realistically evaluating my budget, the RV-9A was clearly the best fit for me. Unequivocally there are faster, sportier, aerobatic capable planes. But for regular interstate trips and occasional long XC flights, $100 hamburgers (and pancake breakfasts), as well as local and Young Eagle flights done with good speed, reasonable economy, and fine style, I choose the RV-9A. While life seems at times a series of compromises, its a relief to know there are no bad choices among the RV fleet.
Read along as the RV-9A project progresses. I’ll update this site as our progress continues. Feel free to ask any questions and I’ll do my best to answer.
